Best way to remove a BA chip?
Best way to remove a BA chip? –
Any suggestions on removing a BA chip without messing the board up? I'm sure a solder sucker or solder braid won't work...
Use HOT AIR GUN it will remove easly
hmm,... never used one before. I'll probably have to look into picking one up (hopefully they're not too expensive!).
This is what i do... i use desoldering braid on all the pins.. then take a needle and pop up each pin.... pretty easy
That's what I was thinking of doing (except using a solder sucker, then a pin to lift the legs of the chip). Maybe I'll give that a whirl first N£TM£ÇH...
Take a look here
www.chipquik.com THE NEW, PATENTED SMD REMOVAL SYSTEM
Is quarantie best way and very easy with the normal iron solder
Have you tried that stuff out villasg? I checked out the website and it looks like it'd be pretty handy. I'm going to try out their 'free sample' and see if it's any good.
Thanks for the heads-up!
*Actually,... can you guys post a link or two where I could buy some replacement BA chips? I've got a machine from a customer that they're shipping to me to repair, and I'm pretty sure I'm going to have to replace the BA chip in it. TIA
