What's the best way to access the dvd and cd pots. I have referred to two guides
    Guide1
    Guide 2

So basically you have to take the laser out by unscrewing that screw. But wont this present problems of alignment when you put it back in? Then do you power up, with the laser out(dangling) and measure pot values? Thanks Shine some light.

Any more thourough guide? Don't get mad if I didn't search enough. I did search some.

Anybody? How do you access the pots. I know they are on the underside of the laser unit, but do I need to take off the laser unit? Do I unscrew it from the rail? If I do that, How do I make sure it gets back on there ok? Thanks

thats basically it, and no you wont mess the alignment up.
I thought saving 15% on my car insurance was good but having my ps2 modded by N£TM£ÇH was way better!

You measure the pots values with an ohmmeter (2Kohm scale) and WITH THE POWER TURNED OFF! The screw won't create any alignment problem at all.

I just lowered my DVD pot to 1170 from 1199/1200. This is a 2.5% more powerful now. I know I was recommened a a 5% percent lowering in resistance, but I'll try this out for a while? Watcha think, Guys?

Used an ohm meter at 2000 scale. Hehe
