There is a full review on the modbo 745 on this site if you search "modbo review full" explaining that the Modbo 745 is just like the matrix infinity (but without the upgrade feature). The modbo 745 has the MI bios 1.82 cracked and with that you have a chip that is great and cheap.
yep modbos dont have an upgradeable flash chip... what makes them cheaper. i use modbo 3.0 and modbo 4.0 and i am very pleased.
also mars a752 / 816 are good chips. i tested modbo 3.0 on almost all ps2 versions and found that it doesnt support v3 ps2s although they provide a diagram which sais its supporting..
but other then that vv4-12 with modbo 3 had no problems. and for v14-16 modbo 4 is just nice.
yeah thanks for the input guys... but where do i gets these chips to Australia? Are there any australian suppliers or suppliers that will ship to Australia?
edit: i would be interested in a real modchip if someone can tell me where i can get it to australia for around 60AUD (around 45 US)

try divineo.cn, that's where I get my stuff from. China's a little closer to you then me, so shipping should be faster and cheaper, which is cheap and fast for me. And their prices are great, modbo 760 for 10$ can.

I have the BlueX-5, The Duo3, Alddin DVD12 or the DMS3+ (which costs a little more but does come with the frills - if a little dated frills).
Or direct to the ps2 section:
I also have a number of sample chips, from Ghost, to CC to octapus etc... but I recomend the before mention 4 types for pure game booting on the V9 - along with the Romeo mod:
