backwards bios chip on v2? attempting dms3 install –

my online friend is installing a mod for me now. he left me a message saying "well the dms3 didnt work, and i was thinking abotu something so i looked at the diagrams and found that the bios chip is backwards on this ps2, really wierd, so im trying now to switch the points". giv me sum advice on what i should tell him. i told him it could be a v1 instead of a v2... iv opened up a ps2 once that clearly showed v2 on the casing, but motherboard was labeled v1. if he is correct about the ps2 version, and the bios chip is backwards how rare is this? are their any diagrams to follow for this type of motherboard? if it was infact backwards, would it be hard enough to spot while modding it, or what else do you think the problem might be? i appreciate all help that is offered, and i can ask him for more info if any of you have questions
all help is greatly appreciated!
i'm going to sit here and cross my fingers

i guess im asking for altenrative diagrams. i was sent this message " v1 and v2 are barely versions they pretty much all the same thing, but v1s and v2s differ so much in layout cause its got 3 bios possitions possible". if anyone can provide help on alternative points or diagrams, or advice, it would help alot
thanks!

ask your friend for a picture of the motherboard. Im guessing he did it wrong, i dont think the system is at fault. Ask him what he meant by "it didnt work." Like i said, im guessing he is at fault and not the system. for the record, on the bios, you solder the wires to the pins on the opposite end of the one that has the dot on it (the one marking pin 1 on the bios). I would basically just say get pictures of the motherboard and compare them to the diagrams.
