DNS3 modchip profesionally installed 6 months ago

Backups played fine at first now either don't load at all or will load, fmv will be choppy, it will freeze up mid game & crash. I have tried a few originals and they all work fine. I asked the guy who chipped it & he recommended cleaning the lens with a qtip & alcohol which i did but to no avail. ( i can't get hold of him again till end of october) Could there be a problem with the chip install, loose wire or something or is that ruled out coz sometimes games do load, i even tried a brand new disc coz of scratches still no luck, some advice would be apprecitated, Thanks
