Okay, I did some tweaking with my azimuth screw, and I've noticed that no matter how much I move the screw, (clockwise and counter) whenever any of my dvd-rs boot, I get the loud noise and when I eject the dvd-r I get cicular scratch on the TOC area of the disc.
I posted a topic earlier, but when I supposedly got it to work, the disc still had scratches.
My question is, does the two round black screws on both sides of the top of the sled do anything for the laser? and if I modify them, will my problem be solved.
For now, I do know that the problem is my laser hitting the dvd-r in attempt to focus on it. But this is causing a serious problem for me and my dvd-rs.
Any help appreciated,
many thanks in advance. :):)
No, turning the bigger black screws that hold the rail won't help at all. they're not supposed to move, however, you might want to turn the white cog at the back counter-clockwise for 2 or 3 cliks and try to boot a DVD again and see what it gives. (be sure to remember the original position before you turn it though)
First, I would clean your lens. Some times that can give you tracking problems where the laser hits the dvd. second if that doesn't work, there are 2 different things you can do.The azimuth adjustment, and the white cog.You can use those to things to align your laser. If you don't clean the lens first, adjusting everything first won't help you, only to a limited capacity.Only adjust the pots on the bottom as a last resort.
