it is a BIG relief to finally get the show on the road. My premods can now ship. I want to thank all that helped as well. Peace! :-)
There is something that everyone doing modchips out there has to realise. The DMS3 has to be installed profesionaly (it's the chip that seperates the Technicians from the kids with soldering irons). I am not trying to offend anyone, but I have seen some pretty bad installations before, I was shocked to see that some of these installation actually worked, and keep in mind that these installations were all done by shops or people claiming to be profesional installers.
What really gets to me about this, is that when this happens people tend to blame the chips and never them selfs. I have seen this with the Titan mod-chips asswell, people have difficulties with the installation and then all of a sudden it's a bad news chip. I have to say that both the Titan and the DMS3 are most deffinitely the most stable PS2 chips I have ever used.
I also see people raving about DVD9 disks, and the chips that do support it. Firstly It's up to the machine to supprt DVD9 and then it's upto the chip after the PS2 has detected the disk. Thus the reason why most V1 - V4 consoles have difficulty playing this format of disk. Most of the chips out there tend to load round about the same titles, it is mainly the stibality that changes and obviously extra features.
Who is this guy? Anyway, I've been on the scene from the very beginning of anything that could be modded and know that there is always the possibility of issues with a newly released chip. This is how we get the word back to the manufacturer and they have time to get back to us (installers, Pro & Amateur), as in the case with the DMS3. As far as the way installtions look, I know I have no issues in that department so I won't even comment on that. In final, we had issues, received info on how to resolve the issue and now, we, the installers, are doing our jobs, making the paper, keeping happy customers and moving on. Guess that's not soomething everybody realizes. :-)
Yeah who is this cat? We have solved the problem and have now moved on. Yes there was a problem w/ an overly "sensitive" chip. But we got around it. But you can be damn sure my installation price is gonna go up!! lol
damn hehe i should carge more for a dms install lol
You're joking about price going up right?Originally posted by L-dubb

Yeah man, I'm just playin around. I've done enough now that they are just as easy as any other install. It was just a joke!!
If you read my post closely you will notice that I was actually refering to the people on the forums who allways say the same lines when there is a problem with any chip "GET THE MESSIAH".Originally posted by ProMods

For the question of who I am, I was a technician for a large arcade game group for about 9 years before staring to do modifications for profit, last 6 years. Before that I used to do it as a hobby.
The other reason for my post is because there are many installers out there who don't really care what an installation was done like, and I think that all of you must know of some people or must have seen some of this type of work.
What all of this boils down to is that people are being ripped off left, right and centre. And the guys who do propper jobs tend to fall under the same cross fire.
Thanks for introducing yourself and cleaning up your original post. It's good to know we have people out here who actually care about the service they provide and not stiffing their customers. I damn sure try to do my best, because I know without my customers, I would not be in business. I just want to give a BIG shoutout to all of my present customers and all the futures ones I look forward to doing business with. You're aight. Peace. :-)
