    Hello all,

I have just installed a Crystal Chips 2.0 chip into a V9 and gotten used to it. Two things I noticed was that I could not set up the hard drive to be accessed via the Sony browser using the HDD setup disc. If I booted with the chip the disc would lock up. If I booted without it of course the disc would say there was no hard drive present. I also noticed that Unreal Tournament would not run when it would under the old memory card exploit I was running (I realize that game never did like hard drives very much).

When I ordered the chip I also ordered a Duo 3 Gold to play with since it was so cheap. Last night I popped it into another V9 unit I had with a weak laser and lo and behold, I could set up the hard drive with no problem using the Sony HDD Utility disc and I could back up my game saves to it just like the original Sony hard drive. I also found that Unreal Tournament would run again.

Does anyone know if the ATAD patching behavior with the CC 2.0 chip may evolve over time to allow the updated Sony browser to be installed? This feature was one of only two reasons I decided to install a modchip in the first place, so I was a little disappointed when I couldn't get it to work.

As always thanks for all who reply.

    Check the image listed here:

    I used this one:

if I remember correctly. I used the connection point on the underside of the board near the I, H, G, F, and B points. I checked the connections under a magnifier to be sure there were no bridges (in my case the "magnifier" was an old 4x rifle scope I was looking through backwards).

    Hope this helps.

Now, anyone know how to get a CC 2.0 to load the Sony 2.0 browser and see the hard drive through it

I would suggested posting in the Crystal Chip section, you'll get more eyeballs there.
