Asian set online tech questions –

lets just say I got a asian set with M(essiah) 2. when i
want to go online, ive to read the installation disc to enable online gaming right? Then i have to off my mod chip to evade detection by the online 'moderators'. When i off the mod chip, the asian ps2 will revert back to its asian status. So wouldnt the 'online moderators know its a asian set then,
and forbid u/c online gaming??

you don't need to always do so, but if you got an ASIAN SET with bluechip, which lets you play import originals from browser in psx mode with my little trick, then you can play with no-modchip detection with an original u/c disc.

What is the Blue chip? could you kindly explain what "little trick" you are refering to?

look into my thread in this section about me getting a network adaptor disc to run (it may be on page 1-3.)
bluechip is the most common found chip in an asian ps2, though i don't know if messiah 2 will work with the trick or not, you'll have to ask charlie to try it.

fooniman-> I think there is some misunderstanding here. I understand that Asian sets being modified can go online with u/c network adaptors.
What I am asking is this: if the modchip is switched off to avoid detection by sony America/Japan/Europe online, won't they be able to tell that my set is Asian? Given that Asian sets do not have network adaptors or support, the moment the Sony chaps know about my set being Asian, won't I be banned from online play?
That is of course, assuming that Sony does indeed scan your PS2 when you go online. I have heard that only Xbox Live! does this and not PS2 online gameplay; how true is this?

well, the trick i gave out in that thread works for U/C Imports in PSX mode, and psx mode is basically chip off, and that disc running PROVES it, so you do that trick with an original U/C game and tada! no modchip detected!
