Apple2 test reviews?

Ok - before anyone jumps down my throat

, I have done a search on this and have not found anything useful - just some concerns about functionality and problems with PS2 CD-R etc...?

And prices...

I have been offered a bulk buy price of these Apple2 but want to confirm whether they are any good before falling into the same trap as I did when buying a stack of the Magic3.

What was the final analysis of these chips?

feel free to point me to any threads that have dealt with this question fully.

I stock - Messiah2 Pro and Magic and just want to know whether it is worth replacing my Magic stock when it runs out with the Apple2 as a cheaper alternative to the Messiah (but only if it works well enough in most models...)

Any full reviews like what have been appearing on some of the other chips lately??

Suggestions would be appreciated

The MC3.1 is better then A2.
I installed one A2 until now (A tiny red PCB with "apple" on the IC)
if it was an A2 indeed, then it has one problem - I'ts just the same as the A1, but smaller and more compatible - I couldn't run dvd9 normally on it, and if you care for the "Playstation2" logo, then you should know it appears scrumbeled most of the times.

other then that - the chip works great (no complains from the client)

I would also like to see a review on the apple 2
I have installed about 20 of them and a freind of mine hase done about 40..

We havn't had any problems with them at all..

All installations where in V4 to V7 Australian PS2's..

So anyone - gotten around to doing a full review of the Apple2??

I.e. Game and console compatibility issues

Boot problems? etc?

Freezes?

Charlie? Guichi? (Anyone?)

Anyone who just strongly recommends against buying them?

Are there bad fakes around that I need to look out for?

The chip I am looking at does not appear to be a miniature chip but is claimed to be an Apple2...

Please let me know if this is a safe buy? (I am not buying from this site but this is the chip, or so I have been told)

That way I will stock Apple2 and Messiah2 PRO - which hopefully is a good combination and also hopefully much better than the Magic3 and possibly as good or better than the Magic3.1 in as far as no freezes of boot issues??

Please let me know if you know different...?

the one on the apple_chip88 website is the real apple 2 from what I can tell.

some people have been trying to pass a chip known as the mini chip as the apple2. mini chip (red pcb with a magic 3 ic on it).

I think debby was tricked.

Becuase apple 2 does not have a screw up logo nor is the pcb red.

I have done a few Apple 2 chips. I can't say there are really any huge problems. It seems about the same as the Magic 3. It does freeze up during Kingdom Hearts intro just like a Magic 3. I dont have a dvd-9 to test. My best guess is that it wont boot dvd-9 but I can not be totally sure. I honestly beleive its basically the same code as the Magic 3.
