Ok, but the Apple 39002 diagrams on the net are for the V7 only. Should I use the Apple 30002r V5 diagrams to place the Apple 39002 chip in the V5 PAL (30004R)?

Ok, but as far as I know the V7 has a different BIOS. So there are 2 different Apple chips for V5 and V7 PAL:

    Apple Chip 30002r Pal - v5 ie 30002r/30003r/30004r
    Apple Chip 39002 Pal - v7 ie 39002/39003/39004

So it really doesn't make a problem to put the Apple 39002 into the PAL SCHP-30004R V5? I assumed that they are incompatible because of the different BIOS versions of V5 and V7....

Sorry I misled you by noit reading your first post properly. The v7 Apple mod does not work in the v5. Again my apologies.
