Hello, i purchased two PS2(v12) modified on the market in Hongkong. They told me there was a infinity modchip inside. when the screen from the PS2 loaded there was indeed Infinity 1.38. So i wanted to upgrade this Infintiy firmware from 1.38 into 1.39. The firmware upgrade seems to be succesfull. But no! Both of my PS2s are broke now! not any kopie cd will work anymore! I can only play dvds. thats it! what can i do ? is it possibile to upgrade the firmware of this APE NH9 chip or not ? this APE chip was disguised as a Infinity, they f*cked me hard!!

Thats what happens when you use an infinty firmware rip. I dont think you could. I wouldn't have gotten this chip in the first place but I guess you can find this stuff in HK. There is a news article on this chip in the news section. I hope this helps.

they probably already added clone detection inside of the new infinity firmware or inside of their explorer.

Sometimes the manufacturer can't identify their own product, as just happened to the Matrix team with their famous MXL2 "dot" identify system, hehe.... at that time Aerick and me were to write a book about that SAGA what's going on the modchip + clone scene. Seems the Infinity has its own destiny aswell, but Matrix Team changed their strategy giving up supporting clones with original Infinity firmwares.

    regards, Stephen
