  1. #1 Question Anyone seen this???
    Mod God Guest
    I installed a MgicV on a V9 ps2.

The red screen comes up (very quickly), but the disk tray keeps spinning.

When I disconnect the power supply (to the chip), I get red screen(of course) and the disk drive is stopped (of course)

I've done cd/dvd points twice, and troubled shot the bios pins, moved the groung twice, and used the DMS3 power point (as alternitive)

    Anyone else seen/fixed this

Back out of the install remove the chip clean everything up TEST it and try again. This sometimes takes less time than trying to find the fault.

Is the "Y" the magic's replacment for "W"?

I can back out and probaly will. I was just wondering if the prolem has been seen before.

Most of the time this happens the disk tray is stopped. And thats why its wierd I will try to seperate the Y and R wires further, flatter, and shorter as always.

    Any other idea's?

Out of MANY ps2's I have done I have NEVER had to wrap a ground wire around anything for the chip to work right. It seems to me if this needs to be done (Using a ground wire wrap)in order for it to work your not doing something right. Just common sense. Chip placement wire size or wire lenth and wire routing play a KEY factor in getting the chip to work right.
