Another problem with v12??? –

It seems like there is another problem/bug with the v12 pstwos.
i saw 3 cases of dead DVD diode insted of dead coils!!!! in all 3 cases it happend regardless the mechanics controller crash.
two i saw in my eyes while using BAD SCRATCH TDK DVD-R. it happend instently while using this bad dvd-r.
when messuring the dvd and cd pots i found out that thay fixed on a very low resistence in all v12 consoles, and also find out that if u get them to high resistence thay continue to perform very good!!! so maby there is a need to also add resistence to the dvd cirquit and by that reducing the current to it!!!
i'll do some testing on my next install

I have now 2 PSTWO with the above problem on Friday. Never had a problem yet until now.
One has a Matrix Infinity with the Comsoft & Sumone fix - Coil resistences (approx 6 ohms) and resistor values (approx 30k ohms) are okay but I will measure the DVD pot value after the weekend. This console will read CD / CDR / CD Silver based media okay but will not read any DVD / DVDR / DVD Silver. This one makes a clicking noise when trying to read DVD based media.
The other one has a ***4 lite installed, but I do not know what laser protection it has as it was brought as a premod in Thailand. This console will read all CD / CDR / CD Silver media but will intermittantly read some original DVD or DVD Silver media but will not read any DVDR media. I have not opened this one up yet to check various values etc. Customer said also DVD movies start to stutter and freeze after 30 mins of playback. I am assuming that this customer would have been using the cheap Thailand DVD Silver media.
