I recently put a magic3.1 in my v4 gap ps2. this is the first ps2 chip i have installed...i have installed one on an xbox, and it worked fine. anywho, I am not getting any video, nor am i getting any response from dvd drive...all you can hear is the fan when you power up.. I'm quite satisfied with the solder job, did resistance tests with my multimeter from the pad on the MC to a pad connected to where the solder point is, and all were closed, with under .5 ohms. i also checked fuses people say it could be, ps13 and 14, and many more on the board. all checked out ok. Checked resistance on the legs of the ic you have to solder to, and all were open, so no bridges or anything. Some people say i may have somehow blown out the ba666fm chip or something of that nature, the one by ps13.

I started it up at first, to see if it would work. The blue light was there, and it ejected, but no browser screen or anything... so i reset it, it went BBBBUUUZZZZZZZZZZZZWWWRRRRRGNGGGGNGNGNG like 3 times, then the blue light died. Anyone have any input?

    Thanks,
    Jem

    you prolly blew a fuse

and u might wanna check that none of ure solder points are shorted

p.s. saying "ive modded and x-box etc." doesnt mean alot, ps2 modding is another league, although u atleast have some practise at soldering

btw, u say uve installed one in an x-box, do u mean a chip, or this chip :s
