Are there any alternative solder points for the CD/DVD Controller?

What are the easiest points to Solder to on a Ver's 3... If any...

Could anyone let me know what a 1F 35V Polarised (Tantalum) Capacitor is??? on the FAQ it says it avoids Choppy DVD but I cannot find any further refference to it in the FAQ...

Unfortunately there are no alternative points for version 3 PS2's regarding the DVD controller chip. Your just going to have to connect them where their supposed to be connected. But your best off practicing an an old VGA card or something similar.
The easiest points are all the points excluding the DVD controller ones.
A polarised Tantalum capacitor is similar to an electrolytic capacitor, except that tantalums are more stable in regards to keeping their capacitance. Tantalums are mainly used in circuits for stability and very little drift, where those characteristics are critical. Tantalums are a little dearer in price than electrolytics, but their available working voltages are lower than electrolytics.
If you intend on fitting a polarised capacitor, then by all means use a tantalum.
Unfortunately I'm not aware of this choppy video problem, so I couldn't tell you where its supposed to go. Sorry about that.
