alternative 3.3 power point v4 board Matrix Infinity
alternative 3.3 power point v4 board Matrix Infinity –
Can someone please help, im a noob and i got all the right equipment, done plenty of reading up on this forum, desided to do the chip today, took time doing the 19 or so 30awg wires and got them great, thinking that was the hard part over and i had sucessfully chiped my ps2...
but then the 22awg wire was multi threaded and basically the fecking thing wouldnt stick to the board and i think i ****ed up the power point
In the pic i gave up on the 22awg wire after an hour or so and used a single 30awg on the power and two twisted 30awg on the ground, that didnt even turn on the ps2 so i opened it back up and realised that it wasnt sticking to the board just cause it was to hot or something, so i put the 22AWG on the ground board and now the playstation is working perfect but as if theres no chip inside it
I downloaded the infinity FirmWare 1.5 and used alcohol 120% to burn the cue file and put it in and pressed reset and still nothing, it just says the normal insert a playstation 2 game
I hope im just a thick and forgetting to press a triangle button or something but i think its just i fried the power point which ill show a picture of the one im using, i have a v4 pal gapped ps2
oh also i scraped the side of the board and used that as the ground, is there any disadvantage to using that as to using the point on the board?
looks like you need to use some flux on those points .
are you booting the chip correctly ? your chip is most likely the homebrew version and needs to be flashed before it operates. You need to hold the reset button until the blue eject light lights up in order to boot the flash upgrade cd-r/
Yes i think its homebrew, it has a blue dot. I think i burned the cd ok, like ive burnt iso and cue files before and copy dvds etc so im not a noob at that, so theres 5 files on the cd, 3bins and elf and system
i put the cd in and turn the ps2 to standby ... i press the reset button which at the moment is red, it then turns green and i keep it pressed down, till the blue button on the eject turns on ... the cd makes a few skipping noises for a second or two and JUST before the normal Browse or system config screen comes up it goes to a redish screen saying insert a playstation 2 or playstation disk
And about the points, i used flux on all the points, i gently scraped the vias and the legs on the bois ... but i think my error was scraping gently the power point, its a gold flat pad, almost like the pads on the Matrix Infinity, maybe i shouldnt have scraped them. The Iron was too hot and just didnt stick but since its my first time soldering i didnt know that was the reason and kept trying to get it, and think i just ****ed up the pad. Any Ideas? And if i had soldered the bios or vias wrong would the playstation still be booting? Like if the playstation is booting is that a sign i done the rest correct?
