Here is the Alt points for MNOP and Does work! I have not tried it myself but a few people has and had success. Maybe it's just your model of PS2. Maybe you got a wire wrong. Here is EnTiTyZ Alternate MNOP Diagram. Attached Below.
i used the same diag. didn't work, only 4 wires all ok.
sorry but i only go from experience not from word of mouth.
no offence meant.
my ps2 is a v5. can i use the alternate MNOP points too?
thx
I just finished my v7 GH-019 and used alternate points MNOP and QTUV. I left R on top of the board so I didn't have to worry about bridging points. It worked great on the first try. I only have one problem, which is probably unrelated to these points. When I put the memory card into slot 1 it will not boot back-up CDRs or DVDs. But when the memeoy card into slot 2 it works perfect (which is where I've decided to leave it for now). Good luck.
Have you got a readout of the writing on your BIOS chip please? I need it in case it is D060/B080 which proves v7.1 (if I can put it that way) works.Originally posted by mz7

On your problem. there may well be a cable problem from the back of the memory card port - not seated correctly in its clamp or something. Also there's something in the Troubleshooting Guide that mught apply.
has anyone tried this?
will this work?
is it recommended or not?
I've tried them and it works. Just make sure you hit up each wire with a multimeter to make sure it's connected to the right bios pin.
Frankly, I find just soldering to the bios pins easier than flipping the motherboard over.
always i use alt points for P,O,N,M.
Always check for continuity from messiah2 to leg of bios.
Always check for NO continuity from leg to leg of bios.
100% works.
Can i assume that these alt point will also work for all other mod chips that use the same points ie magic3 etc.
TIA
