w00t! its a blank template page!
hehe, i bet they are doing it now
Well tbh whats the difference between MX4 and the MI? From the infinitymod.com page it seems the MX4 doesn't allow MC booting, it doesn't mention DVD region free so I guess that isn't supported either. But I do think it'll probably boot .ELF files off a burnt CD as it supports flash upgrades, although there don't seem to be any available right now the webpage.
This thing is a complete waste of time and money. We live in a time when dev mode and dvd free are features that are expected from new modchips. Even with its low cost this is still a step back for the mod scene.
Well I only see this chip as favourable for those mass mod installers that only care for the PS2 to be able to boot backups. If you think about it, these people tend to shift alot more modchips compared to an enthuisast. So my guess would be that Matrix team released the MX4 in hopes so these mass installers would buy big quantities from them. The MX4 could probably be the cheapest solution that supports auto-boot, and for modchip makers, these mass mod installers are where all the money is.
The Hong Kong/China market would probably be the first to buy these in bulk. Afterall all they are interested are cheap installs that work with the less hassle the better. Because the way trend works over there, the most money is made from the, as the Hong Kong people put it, "the first sip of the soup". Since the Matrix Team has beaten the likes of Magic with a cheap auto-boot chip, chances are they're gonna juice it try.
Just my 2 cents
wrong. The HK mod scene literally is in a league of their own. They have their own solutions that do not rely on reflashing and other jargon like that. There were already working solutions for the v12 right around the time the first mainstream groups announced their own solutions. HK guys do not buy mainstream modchips. Its merely a rule of thumb.

According to the infinitymod site, there are two differences between the chip descriptions.
The Infinity description includes:
- DVD Region Free Incorporated
- Full 512 Kb Flash Memory on board
That leaves me with a couple of questions:
Does the MI support RCE?
If not, will it be incorporated in a future firmware release?
What is the 512Kb flash good for?
