OK - been out of the scene for a while, but the idea of a one size fits all chip that costs very little is hard to walk away from.

Can't find any reviews or even mention of the chip on the net - google drew a blank until I added Aladdin to the search - was originally told they where just called DVD12... (which happens to be a DVD formatt so...)

So has anyone used this chip yet?

    Is it any good?

    Running Ice code?

    Clone of something?

Install Diagrams can be found here

Superstition - a lot of people seem to think using 5v on a 3.3v signal bus is bad - it isn't - the input tolerance on such busses is 6 to 7 volts max and will happily run at 5.5 continuous - so 5 is fine.

Yeah. Definately ICE final. It has the TR point (labeled F in the diagram) for media auto detection.

You'd probably be better off getting Summ0ne's H20 (also based on ICE final) which comes with the Subzero fix on board for v12 consoles. If you go to him direct he'll give you two resistors (for 12.1 and 12.2) boards for summ0ne fix and subzero fix so you'll have a really reliable set of laser fixes along side ICE final. And his chips probably won't cost you any more than these.

PLUS the H20 has a nice pad layout.

ok - but has anyone actually used this chip and thus able to provide a review on how well it works?
