I'm pretty sure I've complained about this and asked this question plenty of times on this forum before, but I figured one more time wouldn't hurt, since I always get good advice here.

After 9 weeks of getting the run-around and dealing with B.S. through various local mod installers, I'm pretty much ready to call it quits, sell my PS2 (for the records, it's a V4 1C -- the goofy model everyone hates) along with my apple chip and just buy a premod. Less headaches, less stress.

Problem is I need to know a reliable dealer I can get it from, my choices so far are:

Precision Mods and a premodded Ultra 2 -- $370 with free shipping.

Hackers Hardware - Magic 2: $329, but questionable service.

Specialty Mods - Magic 2 premod, $375 shipped

So what does the forum reccomend? I'm sick and tired of dealing with B.S. on a system that should have been modded over 2 months ago, and I'm tired of having tons of imports just sitting around, unplayable. Precision mods looks tempting because their free shipping ends today..but as always I have no idea what the Ultra 2 is..it LOOKS like an Apple Chip, but still.

    I have recently bought a pre-mod v7 w\apple mod from
www.psx-tech and got good, fast service. And while I'm at it I will give www.freedomlives.com a plug as they did a great job on installing my magic2 a few months back.

Thanks for the advice, I forgot to mention PSX-tech. I actually contacted him about installation service, so if I hear good things there I'll go for that; L.O.D. doesn't do V4 1C consoles, for which I don't blame him for; those versions are such a huge pain to solder..

Yeah, Davies is an *extremely* great guy, he responded to my e-mail quickly and gave me the lowdown on things. And I would've had the console ready to ship out if the guy originally doing the job didn't forget to bring the chip to his business..again.

And now there's wind of a new Messiah out. I am seriously starting to lament the day I bought this apple chip..
