Action Replay V2 and Xport
Action Replay V2 and Xport –
I have an Action Replay v2 and I downloaded the Xport software. I had a USB PL 2301 PC to PC cable. But when I try to access the PS2 with the AR2 I get the error that no AR Dongle found. It is plugged in to port 1.
I borrowed a frinds Sharkport disk and I can see the saves but still can not read the codes or save them. And it is updating codes I really want to do. With the Sharkport disk in the PS2 and the codes tab on xport tells me to use the saves tab for memory cards.
The AR2 is the 8 meg version.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
put your AR2 in your ps2 game and let it load. When it says hardware not found, slowly put your AR2 in Memory Card slot 2. Slower the better. then it will load. i hope you have the memory card dongle instead of the cheap code dongle, cause the code dongle(black with a blimp in the front) has alot of hardware errors and causes you to do a factory reset constantly.
I am not sure why what is suggested would work as the xport only reads from slot 1. But I tried none the less about 3 times with no luck.
My AR2 works and it is the 8meg one. I just want to be able to transfer codes to it. I can even transfer saves from it and to it. with the Sharkport disk I borrowed. But when I run the AR2 PS2 software My xport can not transfer codes or saves.
so the ar2 can read the dongle when you arent using the cable, yet its the xport software telling you it cant find the dongle? if you had a capable chip you could always just "acquire" a version of the ar2 that doesnt require a dongle and maybe that'll help.
personally i just use the sharkport disc and enter codes manually in the rare instance i actually use a cheat disc.
OK, I am not sure I understand the last post. All I am trying to do is download new cheat codes from codejunkies.com and send them to the PS2 with Xport so I do not have to manually enter them. BTW it is mainly to make the games easier for my son.
yea, and im saying that if you have a chip that lets you boot a gameshark/action replay with codes, that all you need to do is download an ar2 iso that's been cracked so it doesnt require the dongle
I found a couple out there but they were an earlier version and PAL and I need NTSC.
Thanks for the input
so then try finding a gameshark iso and use the sharkport software
I have done that but it still does not let me read or tranfer cheat codes. I am sorry if you think I am a pain. But this is just one thing I would like to work. I have tried to get an xport disk but to no avail.
hmm... you sure the gs2 iso you found was actually cracked? theres a bunch around that arent
