hi, you can flash the modbo with 1.38, 1.39 and 1.40beta.
if you use a higher firmware as that.. you will kill the chip!
just leave it as it is.. and it will work perfectly!

Flash it with 1.4 b just as squarefan said. But don't change config or you might kill chip. :)
