The pro installers would have no need for it, but for anyone starting out its a great idea. This way its so much easier to work with, heat isn't so critical, plus it can be easily checked for shorts.Just wonder if it works and if it is why don't most of the web site instruction use it...

cool... will try it on my NTSC v7 tonight... no point risking soldering on the bois legs.

Using those points you can even glue the mod on the IOP chip
(CXD9619GB/V1-V4 or CXD9732GP/V5-V7)
There it will get less heat and you will have most pins on the upper side of the board ....
There's even a alternative point for the reset wire at the pin 33 of the C870 chip ....
Good for a small modchip board like the normal red Magic 3.1 modchip.
I've looked for a picture I could edit and post here, but I didn't found one with that chip in ...![]()
i used these points and my mod works perfectly![]()

good to know
Yep... they works... Just moded my v7 with those points... work perfectly. And those points are so easy to solder... I wish all the points are like that![]()
nice
EnTiTy @ dw's place![]()
as long as they make 100% continuity with the legs thats all that matters
