Just a word of warning - just collected 2 PAL PS2's, both nearly unused, boxed, with both the box and the back of the machine showing the SCPH-30003R code. I didn't even bother asking my friend who wanted them chipped to look for the screw inside the expansion bay, as I've never, ever, seen a PAL SCPH-30003R that hasn't been a V5.
Got them both home for Messiah 2 installs, but found they were both in fact GH-013 V4 machines - I *hate* doing V4s, especially the DVD points, naturally. Got them both running perfectly though, using the new Messiah 2 diagrams, but using the old Messiah 1 V4 alternative CD / DVD points, except for point A, that I kept on the other side. I've found this combination to be the quickest and easiest way to do a V4.
And before anyone asks, the warranty stickers were 100% original - the machines belonged to 11 and 12 year old sisters of a friend of mine. They were bought at the same shop, on the same day - I can only think there was a rogue batch of old V4 units that made it into V5 labelled cases, and packaging, at some point... anyone else found this?
