5pin cord and whatnot

I have a problem. I was installing a no solder mod chip into ma version 7 ps2 and I pulled the 5pin cord out half way and dissconnected it.
Before i realized i had dissconnected it I started the ps2 and teh blue light would blink and CD try wouldnt open.
So i then realized what happened. I order replacement 5pins cords from Modchip.com and everything. So i attempt to reinstall the 5pin just placing it in what looked to be where the old 5pin was. And i turn on the PS2 and the blue light just flashes again as before. The Mod Chip isnt installed as of yet.

I want to know if anyone can help me install the 5pin so that the CD drive will open once again.
