400b 2 400c

hello!
First i describe the situation...
i install dms on ver 4 station after nights of reading posts and tweeking the coil of that @#$@# laser i gave up .
the reasualts:
all media boot fine except dvd original and backups ...(btw dvd movies boot fine as well)
so i figure it out the the laser is dying. So i removed the mod and every thing is back to normal allthough dvd game load after long reading ....

i have lasser type 400b and read that i can replace it with 400c is that corect???
if yes where is the suitable place to order new lasser??
please help!!! the ps2 is belong to my sis and i dont want it to be a family issue

I've installed KHS-400C's in 2 V4 PS2s before. So yeah they do work. Got both of mine on Ebay.

Same here, I put a 400c in a V4 and it worked fine.
I got the laser from Rich's ps2 parts, but they sent it witout a radial adustment screw and it was back ordered for 2 weeks. So I'd try somewhere else.

Rich's C lasers are the best I've tried so far.
Take the screw out of your old laser and put it intothe new one.
Same goes for the spindle arm.

and can 400c lens replaced by 400b laser??
can i put into v9 with 400c laser a 400b laser, did anyone tray it yet?

no that will not work because the 400b is to big and the bottom of the laser will drag on the metal shield . .

yeah only 400b->c can't go from c->b

Oh, I used the screw from the old laser, but I had to adjust the screw myself! If you buy a NEW laser this should be set by the factory. When they send me a laser without a screw how am I supposed to find the best setting? Trial and error! For the price I paid I should not have to do that.
Ok I am done venting now. hehe.
