As far as I know, there were some Magic2 (clone?) mods which had a bug which prevented import psx games to work. No fix possible unfortunately.

In psx mode the (released) magic3 code only patches the module VERSTR to a 'A' (USA) region. It always does this, except when it's an USA console, in this case the byte is already set to 'A' so a patch isn't needed. It doesn't seem to patch the module PS1DRV and also doesn't patch the CDVD bus. It sends the correct SCEX string according to the region of the console while reset is pressed.

I'm not sure if the above is enough to play import ntsc psx games. But the region matches the SCEX string so I don't see a reason why not.

so does this mean there is no way around this like an action replay type device. If not then would i be better trying to get a differant ps2 so that i can play my ntsc stuff as i have quite a few ps1 ntsc games..
    thanks..

    the boot cd does´nt boot!
tryed it on 2 different cdr brands and 2 different burning tools (nero, cdrwin)
and bootet it with holding reset and without holding.
    I got a v7 with a magic 2

is this a fake boot cd?
