30004 PS2 Problem
Ok i fitted a Magic 3 in this V3,every thing worked ok,apart from it some times made a clicking noise when trying to play cdr games and used to skip with the music on the game.
When i tried to boot a dvd backup,it try's to read it but you can hear the lazer skipping.I know the disks are ok coz' they play in my V7 & a M2 without a problem.
I then tryied to adjust the lazer pots with help from hear [url]http://www.psxtune.com/psx2/specialse.html and a multimeter.
I allso found the (A) connection from the Magic had came loose so i soldered it back, now all powers up Electrons spin extra fast untill you reset the date and time,so i did then i put a cdr copy in nothing electrons still spin but slow now the time is set.
When you press the reset botton you have to go through the same thing again (set date & time).
Looked at the ribbon cable to the battery coz' its on another board from the mother-board on this model, tested it for continuity & is ok.
I then changed the back-up battery, but all is still the same, could it be when the connection (A) came off it could it of shorted something ,as the Magic and Ps2 worked fine untill i messed with the pots on the dvd-rom ?
I have yet to disconnect the Magic 3,but first need to seek some advice, can anyone help ?
Thanks in advance

Their is a hair short on 2 of the bios legs

Ok M8 youre the2nd person to tell me this, but what i dont understand is how come the Magic3 was working fine before i adjusted the pots for the Dvd.
Thinking about it if the (A) connection came off when i did that, perhaps one of the bios wires came loose or touched the next leg,as the wires were not fixed down solid with glue, just with tape.
Will have a look soon, let you know how i get on.
Thanks LOD
