    Hi,

I have a V10 GH-026 that won't spin at all. Did the romeo-mod and installed Ripper 2 Gold.

    - Took out the chip, still won't spin....
    - Fatter wire for romeo-mod, still won't spin...
    - Back to 12v for LA, still won't spin...

    Anyone?

    Konrad

It's a CDVD controller problem for sure. Had that several times, when users messed up VIA's or CDVD legs...

If you soldered to the vias then make sure they are all still connected to their tracks because they burn off easily.
    Check them with a multimeter.

Also make sure there are not shorts between the CDVD controller legs. Desoldering BGA's requires a rework station, using that desoldring can be done. A new part bfor the PS2 is (quite) hard to get, except from a working board... (or from a dead one which has other problem(s)).
