im installing a magic 2 in my v7 ps2 and everything is ok except i just cant get the solder to stick on the 3.3v point on the motherboard. i was wondering that since i have installed the chip in the expansion bay(that i dont plan to use) can i connet the 3.3v, 5v, and GND points directly to the power supply, and if so, how? any info would help. thanx

I wouldnt reccomend coming straight off of the power supply itself. The voltage coming from the power supply will toast your chip man. You are having probs with those points too? I thought those were the 'easy' points man. Are you using lots of flux to help it stick?

Take the chip out & start again from scratch using these points. Mount the chip next to them & all ur 22awg wire is less than 50mm long.

Use these for magic3 installs also.
