About LinkBacksI'll try to get this all in one shot folks.
PS2 version 7 with a brand new Magic 3.1 installed. Upon assembly of the unit the machine booted up to the swirling ions or whatever ya want to call em, I reset the time and zone etc.. put in Socom (original) I get the disc not recognized. It wouldn't play cd-r, dvd-r,ps1 original,ps2 original or dvd movie. Acted like the chip wasn't sending any code. Ripped it apart again and checked all connections for 1 hour with a 15x magnifying lense. I increased the wire size for power and ground. Reassembly--Black screen.. tore apart again-- hauled out the Magic 3.1 and swapped in a spare Matrix2 chip I had. Played everything right off the bat. What do you think about the Magic Chip?

Update!! Called GameGizmo this morning, and they said to returned the chip for a another one. my question is why is my chip blue and not red? According to Modchip.ca I am in position of a fake. Gamegizmo says theirs are 100% real not clones. I am grateful that they will exchange chips,but it is alot of hassle to do this when someone is waiting for their PS2,and you don't test chips before they are sold.

Avctually Blue ones were the first Original Magic 3.1 color to hit the market. I have done plenty of them

guess i put in magic 3.1 in those systems.
