2 "strange" problems with my ps2 w/messiah
HI
I have had messiah for a time now and like a month after it was chipped it suddently stopped playing psx games (yes... i know that u have to hit the reset button twice...). it doesnt even play original psx games. While i can play ps2 cd-r , ps2 dvd-r and watch DVD-movies (have only tried orginal dvd movies) i cant figure out why i cant play psx games. I could play them before.
The second problem i have is that i have to try several times before a ps2 cd-r game starts. when it dont boot i get a "insert disc" screen. I also hear alot of strange noises. And by now i can tell if a cd-r game will boot properly just by listening to the noises my ps2 make lol :) Also another ting i have figured out is that if i turn my ps2 upside down, the cd-r games start faster...
This happens to every cd-r game i have. Could the problem only be that i burn on 8x and on bad media? because i cant burn in a lower speed than 8x because of my f***ed up burner (Lite-On) doesn't allow that. I have tried to burn on good cd-r like verbatims but the problem seems to continue. On the other hand my DVD-r's boot on the first try everytime, have never experienced any problem with them. I love them!
And another thing that might be important is that my cousin installed my messiah chip and since he is a cheap asshole he used IDE cable wires to solder the chip, which i later got to know wasnt a good idea.
Oh well I would appritiate any kind of help here. I only hope that my laser isnt damaged heavely!!!

I believe the S wire has become dislodged. This controls PS1 games.

You possibly need to adjust the laser azimuth setting (see the FAQs)

Then if he didn't use thick wire for 3.3v & GND you are likely to hit problems possibly disk related. So that must be changed now. The wires are too thin and can't handle the current.
