2 PS2's giving me problems, help plz!!! –

PS2 #1: It is a V4 I just fitted with a Matrix MX4. The laser will read burnt DVD movies so I know the laser is capable of reading burnt DVD's. It read the firmware CD fine and upgraded the firmware. When originals load, it show's the MX4 logo so the chip seems to be working. Backup DVD & CD's give me red screen. Also, the bigger problem is that the eject button doesn't open or close the drawer. I've been swaping discs by lifting the DVD cover to put a disc in.
PS2 #2: It is a v10 with a Duo2SE that I fitted in a while ago. One of the bio wires came off. I soldered it back into place. Now the Eject button only opens the drawer, it will not close it. I haven't tried backups yet since it won't spin the disc because it thinks the tray is open. If I press the eject button, the tray starts to open, I press it again and it stops opening, it doesn't close.
If anyone has any help, I would appreciate it. I have to get these to my customers and they are both pissing me off.
#1: It's hard to pin point where the problem is, so you should reinstall the chip. First remove it and try to get it to work like it originally does. Then reinstall the chip.
#2: The modchip could be screwed. You should also try removing it to make sure the ps2 is still working then try another modchip.
#1 - check the eject cable for the eject button not responding
for the backup problem - solder the B G H I wires better and bridge the diode on the modchip.
#2 - you have a solder spike on Z point that is touching the casing. That is why the ps2 thinks the tray is always closed. fix that and the ps2 will be back to normal ;-)
#1: Redid the Z wire and a CD/DVD point that come off and it's fine. Thanks for that tip.
Now, as for #1: I replaced the eject ribbon and buttons with different ones. I turned it on after not working on it all night. I pressed the eject button. The drawer opened, pressed again, it closed. Pressed again, nothing. Still nothing on reading backups as well. 1 thing I did notice and correct though was I soldered "I" to the wrong spot (as seen in the attached diagram, there is a VIA under where the red arrow points) Could this have fried something with relation to the eject problem and/or backups.
