12C508A on my PS2, Not working? or is it? What can i do with it?

I have neo 2.2 on pal V3. FMCB working ok, i cant use esr dvd backups cause my laser
is half ****ed up (reads only cds). But with esr (gui) i can directly boot ps2 cd backups.
Dont know how to turn it off.

how to use it (if you dont have FMCB/ESR/USBADVACE/ULE installed on your memcard):

PS1 backup (your region) -> under ps2 browser disc should be recognized as original and boot from there
PS2 CD backup -> you need original AR2/gameshark/swapmagic -> single swap
PS2 DVD backup -> you need original AR2/gameshark/swapmagic, EA eject working, original big PS2 DVD -> double swap

advice -> get FMCB installed on your memcard and then use usbadvance/esr/hd loader/... !

Well that explains why it is shit. I think im going to have to get my mem card sent off to get fmcb installed.

You could install it yourself even if you dont have ar2/gameshark/swapmagic.
But you need original PS2 demo disc (the one with SSX demo on it), EA eject function on Neo22 working and specially made disc with uLaunchELF.

I have contacted one of the guys from aus and he will do it for me. I cant really be bothered learning/asking questions. There is tons of info on this forum, just so unorganised.
