12C508 PIC Chips - Anyone know a good place to get them?

Does anyone know of a good place to get 12C508(A) PIC chips? I've found one place in the US, but they won't ship to Canada.

Also, while we're kind of on this topic... does anyone know where I could find a good PSOne hex that'll work with every version of the PS1 (including the newer PSOnes)? I've got a hex that'll work with the older PS1s, and then another hex that'll only work with the newer PSOnes, but I'd like to find a hex that works with every version.

Still waiting on a Wii hex...

As for your other question about a hex working on both psx/one,

According to this thread on post 4, MM3 is supposed to handle psx and stealth on psone and the mm3 hex can be downloaded here.

Wow... thanks Bootlegninja! But now I've got a dumb question that maybe you can help me out with...

Which frickin' 12C508 chip would work with a PS1? They've got a bunch of different ones. I'm not sure what the '-04/P' or '-04E/SM' that they've got on the end is for.

You wouldn't happen to know which one I'd need do you? As per my post above, I'm not exactly sure which 12C508 is needed. From what I've gathered, the 12C508A is the newest one and will work, but I'm just not sure what that extra stuff on the end is for.

My guess would be the ditributor's part #. I've worked warehouses and seen identical things between 2 companies have 2 different part #'s. But if the phone number is within the country and you have free long distance, it would be best to call the company selling the chip to get more info on the chip.

I think I'll take Bootlegninja's advice and give one of them a call to see if someone might be able to tell me the difference.

I actually picked up a programmer in preparation for a Wii chip (hopefully!!!), and decided that I would test it out with some PS1 chips...
