1 year old dms4 lite - in a brand new gh 0037 41 big problem –
Hi I've just taken a dms4 (1.0) lite chip out of an early slim model machine that was modded about a year ago. When the original machine was done I flashed it with toxic bios flash version 1.2 (config version 1.1) and it worked perfectly, booted everything etc. Now, recently that machine died and I've transplanted the chip into a brand new machine (gh 0037 41).
The install went perfectly - (I have many years experience in modding). Letters o - w are perfect, every one of them is strong and I have resoldered them to ensure they are properly connected. However when I boot the machine it will go into the toxic bios if I hold down square however it will not boot any media at all. The discs I put in never start spinning, the machine just boots through to the browser and sits there. Like I said I've been back to look at my wiring and everything is good. The wires that are involved with cd/dvd are perfect - I couldn't have hoped for a more perfect outcome on these connections. Therefore I am suspecting/hoping that the bios is the issue here but without being able to boot the latest toxic bios disc I am a bit stuck on how to upgrade the bios to see if this remedies the situation. If anyone could help me to suss this out I'd be very grateful.
Ok I've been searching around and I've found that if I have another chipped and working ps2 I may be able to get the files to update the bios onto a memory card and the use the memory card on the machine that needs updating. However the working machine has a dms3 - will this cause problems?
Also what would be the best way in terms of software to use or discs to burn etc for getting the info needed for the dms4 onto a memory card inserted into the dms3 machine. Many thanks to anyone who may be able to help.
