Disks do not spin at all, tried removing power cable on chip and the disks still dont spin.
Looks like laser is trying to read though.
Anyone got any ideas?

Got the same problem, with a V4 PS2 :(
Check the fuse near the 5v point for the magic ice mod. PS11 I think is its name. Anyhow check all the fuses near the LB chip. When the cd/dvd doesn't spin at all this seem to have been the problem a couple of times it hapened to me. Hope I helped.
