** Is it bad to leave the PS2 on standby mode? **

Will anything overheat such as the modchip or wires on a modded PS2 if left in standby?

I rarely use the switch on the back of the unit and just leave the unit on standby when it's not used.

Arrrrrrrrrr, absolutely not. Well as long as yer chip was installed correctly. The PS2 was designed ta be left in standby so it was, much like yer standard DVD players are now-a-days. Ye don't go turning that feller completely on and off every time ye use it do ye? So ta answer yer question there Matey, leaving yer ps2 in standby won't hurt anything.
