Are $ony being B.a.s.t.a.r.d.s.

In regard to Kingdom Hearts and GTA Vice City i think that $ony have have added a new MOD CHIP DETECT routine that is very annoying !

You see it would be very easy to code a little routine that could detect the MAGIC 3 type of chips and instead of hanging the system or showing a warning sign they could be complete b.a.s.t.a.r.d.s. and at a random time it freezes.

This time could be a matter of minutes or hours, and installers do not test each game type for hours , we usually just give a test to see if each game type boots so only the end customer would notice the annoying freezing at random points !

just an idea guys !

nah it's gta VC and its also kingdom hearts
but it works with messiah2 and others just not magic 3

I think that's due to a flaw in the Magic 3 chip... also I don't believe that Sony produced either one of those games.

sony doesnt make games.

its just because of a crappy chip, this was explained in a huge thread about the magic 3 hanging issues.

Well they do have a hand in producing some games (Cool Boarders 2001 comes to mind), but for the most part the games are made by 3rd party developers.

oh, and not the game producers make anti-mod protections but Sony and Sony sells that ant-mod-code to the producers

No, they don't, but feel free to post proof as I don't mind being proved wrong. It never ceases to amaze me how much of this stuff is nothing more than unconfirmed hearsay and uneducated guesses...

I've been playing Kingdom Hearts on Verbatim DVDR and it plays flawless on my v7 w/Messiah 2.

No freezing or hangups after several hours of play....

If you're seriously wanting to Play GTA:VC & Kingdom Hearts, get a M2, or M3.1 (or the original game + unmodded system).
