Won't boot Update Disc

i want to update the crystal inside my ps2, but it won't load the update disc. it looks like it would boot, but after the ps2 logo the screen will just turn black :/

i've tried several different media, cd-r and dvd-r. strange thing though is that the ps2reality cd will just boot fine

any ideas?

Its Your laser. try to level your laser before you adjust it.

software to burn tha cd?
I use Nero or Alchool at middle speed. Update disc has to be burn in a CD (not DVD). did U try other firmware version? maybe the one u have is corrupted..

what u mean for PS2 logo? tha "Sony Enterteinment....." with blue cube and lights or tha Playstation2 (tm) like games?
