I was wondering why my games never seem to boot up all the time when I run it on my PS2. Is there some way I could disable the crystal chip? I never exactly found a manual, so I'm uncertain if pressing reset would sometimes load my games.

I tend to get the annoying red screen...and I'd have to press reset and go through "browser" or something.

I'm actually quite new to the crystal chip...can someone help me out here?

maybe the installation of the chip is not 100% if u use to long wires, especely the ground. It can cause sutch problems, has the ps2 been this way all the time?

Well, it plays originals perfectly. It's just the program with backups that it doesn't always play all the time..

It could be that your laser is dirty or worn down. It's a lot harder for the PS2 laser to reaed burned media than it is to read original pressed discs.
