Ok, well I got a premod v12 with a crystal 1.1 lite. First thing I did was try 10 back ups. Every one of them booted just fine. I played a back up of "Gun" for about two days with no problem. I tried to play a back up of GTA San Andreas and it lets me play for about 10 minutes then freezes. Tried Gran Turismo 3 (back up) and same thing. Works for a few minutes then freezes. Everything boots and gets through the intro just fine. I do not have boot manager installed (waiting on 64 mb memory card to be delivered) but I am not trying to play online. I thought you just had to have that installed to play online, am I wrong? I am using Phillips Dvd-R's with a lite-on 811s, burning and reading at 2x. Should I try other media? Phillips is usually pretty good. I heard from some where that you have to rebuild some games because they have a lot of "dummy" files or something, could this be why? Thanks for the help.
try ritek or taiyo yuden dvd-r it could just be a media issue.
I always burn at 4x using ritek and have never had a bad burn
use dvd decryptor to read and burn and it should work fine
I think it is a media issue. Apparently CNC MAG's are not very good for a ps2 back up, only good for dvd back ups. Now I know ritek isnt supposed to be that good for dvd's, but I guess things are different with PS2 back ups. I'll give them a try, thanks!
Well, I think I found the problem. I'm sure the media didn't help, but that is not what is causing my problem. I tried to play an original game and it did the same. I figured out that the top doesn't stay down all the way (flip top case). If I put something not too heavy on it everything works fine. I looked around for screws to maybe tighten, but couldn't find anything. The top shuts, but does not completly latch on. If I push it down a little I can feel it catch, but after a few minutes it slips. Any suggestions?
