I just finished installing my chip yesterday. I tested all the connections and there is no shorts. When I go to flash the chip I put the disk in and the system will turn on for about 3 seconds and then turn off. I may have burned the disk wrong as I have nothing that can write .bin files I just renamed it into a .iso and burned that.

AFAIK, there's no way a wrong burned disc can cause the PS2 to shut down. Did you test it without a disc, or with any other disc?

The disc has to be burned in mode2. You can just download a test version of Nero and use that to burn the disc.

I tried to boot it with one of my bought games and it still will not boot up. Same thing 3 seconds of green light and then turns off. Oh if it helps any I have a v12 ps2. Hmm it sounds like it tries to spin up but doesn't for some reason. Maybe when I was putting it back together I didn't put one of the motor/laser assembly ribbon cables back properly.

When I installed my CC, I was sure that my connections was Ok, but the PS 2 didn't boot. So I checked, again, and again, made new welding for suspect connections. And after having disassembled my PS 2 three times, it finally worked ! And it works now like a charm for 1 year...
So, my advice : check and check again your wires...
