I installed the CC chip to my V15 PS2 using the diagrams from the CC website. I tried the LED test on the Chip, and the LED comes on and then goes immediately off. I don't know if this means the install is ok, or that the CD/DVD wires are wrong. Which one does LED immediately on/off mean?
Are the CD/DVD wires the via points in section 2?
I thought my install was ok;however, I used 30awg wires for my voltage and ground wires. Should the chip still work?
I also didn't quite know how to solder the via points. I've read you need to make a solder bump on the vias and insert the wires. However, instead I tinned the wires, dipped then in flux, and vertically inserted them into the vias.....and applied 15watt heat? Is this bad?
How could I try make solder bumps on the vias....solder wouldn't initially stick into the wholes, and I'm afraid I'm going to bury them.
What is wrong? Well, initially before I missed the HA point PS1 media would boot, but PS2 would go to the browser with a dvd disc pictured. I would click and it would take me right back to the disc browser. Now when I put on the HA point, no media will boot. PS2 does the same thing, and PS1 says that the disc is empty.
Do these symptons point to CD/DVD? Is that the vias in section 2? Could it be my method of soldering vias.
Does flux on the vias help? How easy is it to destroy a via using a pencil radio shack iron 15w?
