Hi, I have just downloaded the BM Megapack 2 from here and followed the instructions completely. I then burned it to a CD and launched the PS2.

Now here comes the problem. I went to attempt installing ULE and the PS2 just hangs forever. I set the Source to "CD" and the Destination to "MC1".

It shows the entire list of programs available for installation but when I choose ULE it just hangs.

    Anyone able to help me?

Do you use the latest firmware and BootManager? If you still got the "change source", "change dest" entries in the App Browser, then it's definitely not the latest BM. The BM Megapack 2 is only compatible to the latest software release 29 (BM 2.0.6).

Which type/brand of MC are you using? you might want to try a different MC if you have any.

I use a Sony MC. Just wanted to clear that up.

I also have 5,447 KB free on the MC, this should be enough for ULE correct?

My BM does have "Change Source Device" and "Change Destination Device", so Maybe I need to install a new BM to allow this to install correctly then.

Yep, the new Megapack can't work with an old BM version due to script changes. Download the latest version here on the forum (link in my signature) and install it first, then everything should work fine.

I downloaded the FW/BM from Crystal-Chips when I created my Megapack ISO image. It was required, said so in the CCWiki.

Now with that same CD can I install the correct BM?

Alright... I have now installed BM 2.0.6 and installed a few Apps.

ULE however said "Failed Installing ULaunchELF"

If you installed the original BM you can't play backups anymore. That's why I told you to get the hacked version.

I don't know what still could be wrong with uLE. You could try to install it from USB or PC Host, or try to make your own APPINFO.PBT, maybe you've got more luck with that. Look at the CC Wiki for detailed step by step instructions.

I have installed ULE using my PSP as a USB device. SO that is out of the way.

Now you say with the BM from the CC site I will not be able to play Backups? Even if the Hacked FW is installed?

Hmmm... could that have anything to do with my screen messing up when I load up my Retail FFXII using the Xploder HDTV ELF? It loads up but the screen becomes to the point where you can't see anything, it looks like it's mutilated.

Not only the FW is hacked, the BootManager too is modified to allow backups, so you need both FW and BM from the hacked release, else you will get problems.

I'd say the messed screen is due to the xploder, but you could try to deactivate the screen fixes in BM to see if it gets better. Did you test any other game to see if it's always the same? Or does it only occur with FFXII?
If it looks like the picture is doubled, one is centered and the other is moved up or down, or to the side, then that problem existed in earlier BM versions with some games using the NTSC fix. BM has it solved now, maybe xploder still has that prob.
