Just got the latest batch of CC1.1s and seems there are major defects or problems with this new batch. Mind you I have installed many chips before and consider myself a expert installer.
Ok here is the problem Installed one in a v12 was able to flash the chip. With a known working upgrade disk I have used many times before. Used R19 Firmware. When trying to boot a backup it goes to the browser and shows a PS2 disk but will not boot. Tried hitting X at the browser to boot the disk it just goes right back to the browser. I figured OK maybe bad chip so I removed the chip and wiring and put in a new one with new wiring and got the same results was able to flash but would not boot backup. I then tried R18 firmware and got same results. The second console I did was a v14 Installed the chip no problem but when trying to load the firmware all I get is the disk starts to load then to a black screen On both the R18 and R19 firmware. So Again I put in another NEWchip and redid the wiring again and get the same results. Now I am thinking WTF.

    Any HELP?

Please don't say install error and please don't say bad firmware disk I am 100% positive its not either.

The next test I am going to put one in a older console and see If I get the same results. I also have a V5 with the CC1.0 I am going to replace it with one of these new batch of chips and see what happens.
Heres a high res of the v12

Would that be the same batch that was shipped to me? I just installed it on a V7 yesterday and I was having somewhat similar results, but I flashed the motherboard EEPROM to take 400C lasers (originally R laser) so I blamed it on that. It's doing a little better now actually, but still sporadic instances where it jumps back into browser and sometimes red screens.

OK here are the results I have I took out the CC1.0 out of my v5 put in the CC1.1 new batch and guess what same thing I was able to flash the chip but it will not boot any backups just goes to the browser and shows a PS2 disk. I then put the CC1.0 in the v12 I took the CC1.1 out of and guess what it works. Mind you I used the same wiring on both consoles just switched chips. Man Im pissed off! WTF

OK I downloaded the firmware again Burned the upgrade disk and now it works. Call me a dumbass but when you invest alot of cash and shit don't work you get upset! Sorry for all the red flags. I just got this new batch a few days ago and did not get a chance to test untill today. I guess the disk firmware disk I had the CC1.0 firmware was cracked must have worked but the CC1.1 firmware wasent and did not work. I have to learn to not jump the gun so fast sorry guys.

Went through the same dramas with my V14 GH-041-03, first install looked perfect and flashed fine (R19 hacked), but chip was being a total pain in the ass, resoldered everything a couple times and no luck, ended up lifting the cap at the SX point in the process. After a few reflashes of firmware it seems to behave now, except PS1 mode stalls at black screen (SX point capacitor has been replaced).

You really should've searched the boards before making a thread like this. I'm not trying to single you out of this problem. Even professional installers need to follow some of the most basic troubleshooting tips. In the past 7 days i've answered the same question. If your firmware disc doesn't work then try creating your own using nero,cdrwin,cdgenps2 and lots of other programs that will create your own image from individual files. Search the boards.

Your thread subject and demeaner are very misleading for n00bs and should be very embarassing for a "professional" like you. Can a mod edit the subject and add probelm solved or something? n00bies are really going to think that there is a real problem just cuz a "pro" cant burn a proper firmware disc.
