these cards worked just as fine as the sony official cards. if you open one of them and have a look, it actually has real magic gate chip and samsung flash memory chip which is also used by sony official memory cards.

it's surely a fake, yes. these cards were not made by sony but by some factories in china used pretty much the same components as sony used. sony has so many factories in china, it's not hard to imagine that the magic gate chip could just have leaked out or simply illegally re-produced.

Datel took many years to learn how to bypass the magic gate and finally made their maxi memory cards. these chinese factories can only use the leaked magic gate chip to produce the memory card. with the magic gate chip, it's easy to make 16mb/32mb/64mb cards and they work just as good as the sony official ones.

I have two chinese PS2 memory cards with 8MB flash.
Both reply to the PS2 the same Serial Number, resulting on the exact same file on both when installing magic gate protected files ( encrypted executables like DVD driver or System Driver for 10k/15k/18k HDD boot)

I tested the same file on both cards and it works (Files installed on original memory cards have unique "fingerprints" in them)

As I already mentioned, I work in a game store and the supplier showed me that very package in and with my own eyes I've noticed that nothing was written AFTER the module number (SCPH-10020).

These are the original modules which are known to me:

SCPH-10020 GB \ F (A small yellow package with a carton)
SCPH-10020 E (A big package with a transparent plastic)
SCPH-10020 U (Same as above said)

As far as I could tell the memory card was indeed fake since it didn't had the above mentioned letters after its module, I don't what's in that Memory Card since the owner of the store told the supplier to return it since he doesn't sell such crap to his customers.
