do i need this bootmanager thing?
i heard theres a problem with patching backup's dnas on the fly, how can this be worked out?
The "bootmanager thing" is the best modchip OS you can imagine and it provides all patches, like screen fixes and DNAS patch. Without BM the chip has almost no features.
If you fear loosing precious MemCard space, then you prolly don't know LaunchELF. LaunchELF's psuPaste function let's you backup game saves to a USB drive or to the PC via network and that way you can have as much space as you want.
I played quite some games online from backup discs, e.g. Burnout3+4, Battlefield2, SW Battlefront2, Splinter Cell DA, Tony Hawk AW, PES6. The only game I couldn't go online with was Urban Chaos. I'd say it works just fine for at least 90% of all online games.
