Really weird problem on v4, keeps ejecting
Really weird problem on v4, keeps ejecting –

Just installed a CC 1.1 chip, and the system keeps ejecting the disk on its own, and in a strange manner, not with a complete ejection, but ejecting partway, then going back, then ejecting again, within seconds or milliseconds of eachother. Very strange.
I took the modchip out, had the system working perfectly without it, installed it again and the exact same behavior occured. I checked the connections thoroughly and nothing -seems- to be wrong, but I can't be 100% certain.
Which connection(s) are related to that phenomenon, and/or why is it happening?

Check the TO wire. Also, check the ribbon cable. Make sure the pins are not bent underneath.

I checked TO, both ends seem to be soldered on well. Checked for bridges with the multimeter on all connections, and for spatters everywhere, there are none. This is the same behavior that occured with two v4 installs. I wonder if there is a certain wire that is sensitive to interference or something.

Probably a bug with the v4s + cc.

Nah I have installed many CC's ... 1.0 and 1.1 is V4's and never seen a issue like that. Maybe his particular chip is flawed but sounds more like an install issue. Do you have a different CC you can try out?

Another CC is coming in soon, I'll use that to determine if it's the install or not.
Are there any special guidelines for the CC installation, like keeping certain wires isolated? As for sizes, I was using 22 awg kynar for the ground and 3v, and 32 awg for the rest.
Appreciate the feedback, though.

Yes those wires should be just fine. The CC doesnt suffer from crossed wires like the DMS chips do, but a clean install never hurts anything.
